2008-2009 delivered me custom illustration and design work for Chicago, IL based songwriter / poet and his band, Cameron McGIll and What Army. On the eve of my 36th birthday, Cameron McGill and his band, What Army, came through my hometown to play an 11pm Thankgivin;’ Eve show @ Kryptonite, one of 3 places open on the west side of the bridge in downtown Rockford, IL most nights. (Pathetic right?) November 25th, 2009 was not a night for being in the mood for high school reunions, which is what most ‘Eve’ holidays are around this town. I prepared early by rounding up my younger sis and our friend, Peter, to hit downtown sooner than later. Luckily, Chris, the bar’s owner had already reserved me a table near the band knowing in advance I don’t deal well with people who go to see a band then try and talk over a band.
